Jacob Said:

three different types of customers and their needs and expectations?

We Answered:

I would go for 'Student', 'Patient' and 'Consumer' ...

Students typically expect a 'long term' 3 - 4 year 'relationship' (for a Degree course) and have a diverse set of needs (from simple 'where do I go for the next class ? / what books do I need ? to 'is there wheelchair access ? etc)

Patients typically hope to have as short a relationship as possible (they want to get well and go home asap) but are totally reliant on the organisation in the short term ..

Finally, Consumers have an immediate and focused goal (buy crisps) and are only interested in the organisation up to the time they pick up their change ..

PS Is this course work part of your final assessment ???

If so, I hope you have managed to learn at least enough to pick one of the answers :-)

Does anyone have an example of a foreign business's failed market entry into Russia?

We Answered:

Nestle.

It's one of the few markets where the worldwide dominant producer has failed to penetrate the market. Well... the other is perhaps McDonalds in the Philippines. But Nescafe has failed to gain traction in Russia.

Coke was not a "failure" as it successfully entered into the Russian market and now has the largest market share. While its initial entry was disappointing due to the Party endorsement, 10 year head start by Pepsi and slow growth due to the collapse of the economy post-Peristroika era, it now has the largest market share - over taking Pepsi. Coke continues to gain good growth from its Russian ventures, as is noted in its 10-Ks. See the following article for follow up.

If you want other examples of failures, you can use any of the oil major companies (e.g. Royal Dutch Shell - which was forced to exit by Putin as he consolidated Russian control on oil & gas resources earlier this year).

Credit Suisse tried to enter the Russian market in 1998 and got blasted for it.

PLEASE HELP I need help on my gcse business coursework please help me?

We Answered:

Sart up costs are all the costs you need to pay before you start your business. In this example it would include maybe the deposit for the hut, the trading license fee, any deposits or connection charges for gas, phone, electricity...gettit? You will have to review the whole study to find these, becasue I cannot see mention of them here.

Operating costs are the costs associated with running the business. It would be say the monthly rent, the monthly electricity and gas and phone bills, the costs of staff etc. It is the costs ro run the place. But it does not include the products she is going to sell.eg coffee, juice etc.

Revenue is all the money she gets in.

I hope this has been helpful. If not you can email me the whole case study and I can do it for you :)

Okay

If Mia wants to save money on her gas, electricity, telephone , broadband and mobile phone, and indeed if she wants an 0800 freephone number ask her to email me asikhatali@telecomplus.org.uk.

On the other hand if Mia wants a more lucrative business ask her to visit www.telecomplus.org.uk/ asikhatali (copy this to your browser and remove the space after the /.

Read the page then click on the "business opportunity" box. Then on the right she will see an orange-sh box with the words "whats it all about?" Watch that DVD. Then go sign up (see the top left of the Business Opportunity page).

Remember to sign up under me (check the number 189870 is on the browser page) if you want me to mentor you from ground zero until you are earning at least £500 per month. Together we can do this in 6-12 months!

How does a non-computerized business run?

We Answered:

noncomputerizedbusinesses.com

Other than dot-coms, every business in the world operated without computers until the PC came into common and widespread use, so around 1987. Some, especially outside the first world, still do.

All you have to do is make up a case study describing what an office would do by hand if it weren't doing it on the computer.
