case study is where emphasis is given on indept study of a particular case. researchers focus on cases which can provide critical information or new learning on less understood phenomena.with the help of case studies psychologists have done research to understand feelings, fantasies, hopes, fears, traumatic experiences, parental upbringing and so on, that helps to understand a person's mind and behaviour. it is also used to understand the pattern of socialisation of children.naturalistic observation is when observations are done in natural or real life settings. in this the observer makes no attemt to manipulate the situation for making the observations. this type of observation is conducted in schools, hospitals, homes, day care centres etc.
