You know, the key is..
- keep patience
- dont leave hope
- Learn from the mistakes (I mean introspect yourself, what I might have done better.)
- Keep trying, be persistent
- networking helps

It is matter of time...success will be there....

And last but not the least...keep smiling....and once you get the offer..do share the news with me...

best wishes..

Ryan Said:

What do top consulting firms look for in shortlisting interview candidates?

We Answered:

Polish and talent. Strong handshake, power suit, engaging personality - ability to bring confidence, energy and poise.

They like people who are competitive, bring excellent technical (IT) and/or financial skills....usually that is found in a bright mind with an excellent decision making algorhythm.

You can try the direct approach by calling someone up and getting a conversation. You can try to network at a Deloitte (or similar) sponsored function. You can also get in touch with companies like Robert Half that supply temps to those consulting firms. You can befriend an executive or manager who uses those firms and ask him/her for a fererral into them for an interview.

Hope that helps!

Started a New LLC(IT consulting) and now trying to recruit employees on H1B ?

We Answered:

Basically, you are trying to start an H1B mill, which makes sense financially, but is frowned upon by various components of the US Department of Homeland Security - the purpose of the H1B visa program is to provide skilled workers for companies that cannot find enough in-country job candidates, not to provide for the creation of overseas recruiting firms. Establish yourself as a legitimate IT firm for a few years, then bring in foreign workers, if necessary.

I didn't claim about my arrest on immigration interview..?

We Answered:

I stopped reading after "I was mistakenly arrested for shoplifting...convicted...and paid the fine...." Sure. Whatever....

John Said:

My papers is being done by a US fiancee as K1 visa, how would the interview at the consul usually go?

We Answered:

There is no set formula. The interviewing consular officer will ask any questions, conduct any kind of investigation, and review any evidence that seems appropriate in order to make the correct decision. This might or might not include talking with third parties - although it usually does not, since we are very careful with people's privacy. Most K1 visas are straightforward and simple, and the decision can be made in minutes; some are not. No one can predict exactly where the interview will go until it begins.
