A criminal case is when charges are pressed against someone for committing a crime. This cases are determined by a jury. You can be sued, put in prison or both in these cases.

OJ Simpson won his criminal case. He was found innocent of murder. But the family sued him in civil court for violating the victim's right to live. The right to live is one of your civil rights. He lost that case, and was sued. But because you cannot be put in jail from a civil case, he got out of it.

There are many consumer protection groups that may go in, and thus helping to establish Probable Cause for a Search Warrant. Having an undercover go in and establish probable cause with the two-prong rule will also establish reasoning for the issuance of a search warrant.
