The key to a KMS is the user interface -- not the content.

It doesn't matter how good your content is and how wonderful the features are if the users won't use the system. Conversely, a system with far less data and fewer features but an excellent user interface will be used quite heavily.

Your ideas as to features are fine -- provided that those features will support the needs of the users of the system.

well you can interview people of different ethnic backgrounds who work at the companies. in person over the phone or even email or something. even snail mail. make it work. it shouldnt be that hard. you could go to the personnel of that company and ask them for their stats or something.
