Craig Said:
Need help with a Medical Ethics Paper.?We Answered:
What's the real reason for not giving the pain medicine? Is the pain medicine the same he was addicted to? What is the injury? Is it because the doctor thinks he is lying? Even if the pain isn't a ten, that doesn't mean he should suffer.Patients should get pain relief when needed. The doctor and nurse should be honest to the patient.
The patient has a right to know. The patient has a right to be a participant in his own treatment and to decide on it. The pros and cons should be carefully explained to the patient, including any addiction risks. The choice should be his. He is not being treated as a person in this scenario. You may be surprised to find out he may not want the risk or some other drug can be substitued.
The moral obligation of the nurse is to do what she thinks is the right thing and stand up to the doctor if need be.

What do Hindus or people from Thiland see wrong with Colostomy's. Why is there a stigima involved with this?We Answered:
In the case of Hindus it probably has to do with the caste system. While it's legally abolished in India, the caste system existed for thousands of years and still strongly influences social mores. The handling of feces under the caste system is limited to the Dalits, the lowest caste.Gina Said:
whats the difference between the 7th and 8th ed. of Intervention & Reflection:Medical Ethics by Ronald Munson? We Answered:
ParesThere will not be that much of a difference in them both. The 8th edition will simply have updated material inclusive of more recent case studies and recent changes in law both national and international.
If you are going to buy the book then my advice would be to buy the latest edition of any academic text book for any subject. This is especially true of medicine (animal and human), medical ethics (animal and human), nursing (animal and human) and law (national and international),
For leisure reading buy any copy of any book. The text contained within novels and otherwise are very very rarely changed.
