Sample Case Study Interview
Edna Said:
What is this sentence saying? We Answered:
It means you should write a dissertation proposal to look into what you want to study in accounting and finance. For instance, do you want to look into the issues regarding the convergence of IFRS and US GAAP?
The issues surrounding disclosure of accounting items and their signficance?
Do you want to discuss the magnitude of the effect of errors in measurement or presentation?
Do you think there is an issue with how goodwill is categorised?
Is there an issue with how financial markets behave compared to how they do in theory?
etc.
You will need to talk about how you are going to go about your background reading and throw in some names and subject areas you want to talk about
You then need to say how you are going to go about doing your research and what research methods you are going to use. e.g. are you going to use secondary sources? if so, where is the information from?
how you are going to collect the data? is it through a database? are you going to do interviews? are you going to stand there and make notes on what people are doing?
how you are going to find out what you need to find out? are you going to go about studying the topic with companies individually? are you going to set up an experiment and test how people think or what they would think if accounts were presented in a certain way? etc.
Think of a journal article where they have methodology sections, their aims/objectives, why they think the article is of interest, what background reading they have done, what their conclusions were, etc.
It's a similar model and it should work for you
Hope this helps

event planners, teachers-- what should i do???We Answered:
I would begin with # 2. You want to make sure that your focus is on checklists or concerns that student might face or that they can use....don't focus too much on the info from your past. Remember the committee are looking for what you can bring to students....they know about your background from the interview or your resume. Good luck!Janice Said:
Sociology Question: Please answer?We Answered:
Try this site.www.socialresearchmethods.net/tutorial… It appears to have the basics on everything that you need. You might go to the library or bookstore this weekend and try to find a book about methods in social research. If you access to a college library you might try to find this publication on the Hawthorne Effect: "The Hawthorne experiments: First statistical interpretation." American Sociological Review, 1978, 43, 623-643.
