Careers that involve making schedules?

We Answered:

Consider making schedules for Major League Baseball, the National Football League, the National Basketball Association, or the National Hockey League.

Schedule makers for those organizations are probably in hog heaven.

Do i have a good case for constructive dismissal?

We Answered:

Check your personnel policies / employee handbook to see whether you have rights. If you're a union member, check with your shop steward. In most jurisdictions, an employee is not entitled to a particular position, or not to be transferred - courts figure you can quit if you don't like the job they've put you in, regardless of whether you've been consulted beforehand.

There's a possibility that you have a right to reasonable accommodation of a disability. Thus, if you need time off for doctors' appointments, or a changed schedule, the company may need to let you have those accommodations. But you should ask for whatever you need; the employer can't read your mind.

What to expect during a social study?

We Answered:

First of all, you don't say whether or not you receive child support - on time, in full. Secondly, what visible means of support for your children are you actually providing? While going back to school is admirable, the fact is, kids cost money and they aren't cheap. That aside, what type of home environment are you providing? Is your home clean, tidy, safe? Is there food in the fridge and do you provide nourishing meals on a regular basis? Do you do activities (go to the park or museum or play games) as a family? Are your children where they should be age and education-wise? Do your children appear clean, healthy and well taken care of? Are their bedrooms clean and appropriate?

Clearly, you want what is best for your children so those questions (above) will be part of what the social worker will be looking for. As far as your paying half for this, you might want to explain that you do not have the full amount at this time. Pay what you can then make payments until you have paid in full. Don't miss or short a payment because it reflects your credibility.
