The Case Study Handbook

Teresa Said:

What basic grammar and usage handbook would you recommend for teaching college level English composition?

We Answered:

I think you should check out Writing from A to Z by Charles T. Brusaw. It takes a different approach to formatting by organizing itself like an encyclopedia, concepts are listed alphabetically for easy reference. It also contains comprehensive sections on citation, research, and composition. It's relatively small (505 pages but it is not full sized). It isn't exactly what you've described but it's worth a look. As a student, this is the best book I have ever owned and still use for all of my writing.

wrongful termination or defamation of character?

We Answered:

no, and there are a lot of positives you can take from the experience. Not everyone gets a year of experience in a job for which they are underqualified. Your family and friends are well-meaning, but it seems they are encouraging you to play the role of a victim. Tell a prospective employer basically what you told us,

"I was placed into a position that I was not qualified, but worked it for over a year and studied everything I could to learn the department. Was provided with very little training at the onset of my position, and then was terminated because the company grew too fast that they needed someone with experience...I had received raises about a month prior to my termination. I was recently told by a current employee at the company that the person that took over my position told her that she is extremely impressed with what I had going on in the department."

It doesn't cast you in a negative light at all.

What's the best car for a responsible teenager?

We Answered:

Some of the SUV's your looking at are serious family cars... i mean 7 passengers? thats a ton...

Your mazda Cx-9 is virtually built for the dad with a family. it gives him power. handling and just that jerk he can when he wants to get the kids to school faster. the CX-9 is based on power.

Of these i like the Honda CR-V i used to have a 2005, and i liked it. Though my friend had a honda element and he got better gas milage, (WAY BETTER) and it still sat a few. As for a "light" car... I imagine your worried about slipping off the road? heavier cars usually slip more... and also they are worse on gas. lighter cars dont blow away in the wind. cars now a days are built light, and more aerodynamic to help them stay firmly planted on the road. also lighter cars stop faster then heavier ones... seeing how there breaks and tires dont work as hard as the lighter cars do....

These cars are all very nice family SUV's. Though if you are going to be driving 5 days out of the week by yourself. get something that for you... Id seriously look into a actual car. something you could enjoy. or instance a new Honda Civic. and you can still play taxi on the weekends. or, you could look into a volvo wagon. those usually sit a few more then your typical sedan. Im a firm believer that one should buy an suv if it wont be utilized fully. if it doesnt have.
1. A strong powerful engine
2. rock solid transmission
3. 4 wheel drive, or (AWD)
4. the "L" gear
5. high enough off the ground.
6. and of course, high safety features.

You dont want to just look at the seats and the safety features... seeing how they wont matter if the car is on recall or broke the majority of time.. look up the car reviews and they'll often tell you the problems with the cars.. go test driving with your mother. she'll also help you decide seeing how she has had more experience.

The best of luck.

Where can I get any materials regarding about microfinance in the Philippines?

We Answered:

Do you really think much has been done there? You should get on the phillipine web site most countrys have one.it might be easier to to just find out what there banking system is doing if the country pays its average workers daily weekly monthly and then you could use your own data to figure out their methods. I know brazil wasnt doing too well for awhile and it seemed like it was directly caused by the amount of time employees had their pay held in a bank until they got a check, most people got paid daily and it sounded like bankers nightmare.

Needing to make a complaint about my Halls of Residence at university, but in my student handbook, it has said?

We Answered:

I don't think this would be regarded as malicious as you are not doing it to get like a specific person into trouble or cause trouble in general, just get what you deserve and what you are paying for! when i stayed in student halls they were also slow & not very helpful when it came to fixing stuff so we just used to contact the manager directly and keep complaining about it till they did something! i would definatly put a complaint in if it was you as nothing will ever get done if you don't!! good luck!
