The obvious advantage is portability - you take it with you and at meetings with clients, potential clients, or inhouse company meetings you have all your info at your fingertips. You can show powerpoint presentations, work out quotes instantly using Excel - much more professional than a handwritten one, can keep in touch with the world with email if you are wifi, which most people are. I never go without a laptop (even on holiday, but then I supposeIlead a sad life!) Only disadvantage with a laptop over pc is that using Excel a lot I do miss the numerical keypad.

If you are suggesting a program like drug rehabilitation, then what are the direct costs of the facilities and employees and the indirect benefits, like reduced crime and tax benefits of people working again.
