Nina Said:
What are some good christian universities and colleges? We Answered:
Not many Christian colleges have medical schools or engineering. Almost none have architecture.Really good Christian colleges include Eastern Nazarene College in Massachusetts, Houghton College in New York, Taylor University in Indiana, Calvin College in Michigan, Northwest Nazarene University in Idaho, and Azusa Pacific University in California.
The best engineering programmes will be at Eastern Nazarene College and Calvin College. None of the schools I listed offer MDs, but Eastern Nazarene College has the best acceptance rate into medical schools of these colleges, at 94 per cent. Baylor, for example, only has a 50 per cent acceptance rate into medical schools for its graduates, though that's still higher than the national average of 45 per cent.
Oh, and the only ones that's near a beach is Eastern Nazarene (less than half a mile) -- all the others are either several miles from the ocean or completely landlocked.

Christian Colleges or Universities on the East coast? We Answered:
I'm so sorry that everyone has skirted the question and/or told you to just "Google search". And those who either tell you that there aren't any Christian colleges on the East Coast have no idea what they're talking about! I'm not sure if you mean ALL Christian colleges or non-Catholic Christian colleges -- some people say Catholic when they mean Catholic schools and Christian when they mean Protestant or evangelical schools.I attended a Christian liberal arts college on the South Shore in Massachusetts, called Eastern Nazarene College, for my undergraduate. It's not a top-ranked school, but there are plenty of other good Christian schools that aren't in the top tier in on the East Cost, like Eastern U, Geneva, Gordon, Houghton, &c. Most intentionally Christian colleges on the East Coast aren't top-ranked because they're smaller and less wealthy, and because rankings systems mostly support the status quo (all you have to do is read their methodology to discover how subjective and how inaccurate their determinations for causality are). Even good Catholic schools like Elms College are in the third tier, despite having administrators that write regular features for the Chronicle of Higher Education.
I had a great time at Eastern Nazarene. It's in a suburb called Quincy, right near a beach and just a few miles south of downtown Boston. My wife and I both really miss living in the area. I was a history major there, and my wife was a business major when she went to school there. Both programmes were great, and my wife got a job as a director for a government agency before the end of her last year in school.
The pre-law programme has had a 100% acceptance rate into law schools for the last 25-30 years. The pre-med programme has a 94% acceptance rate into medical schools (the national average is only 44-45%, Holy Cross and Tufts have 90%, Boston College has 80%, and Baylor in Texas has 50%). I knew people at Eastern Nazarene who are at Harvard Medical now, and one of my friends got a full ride. I actually have another friend enrolling there this year who has a perfect SAT score and turned down his acceptance at Harvard College. So the education is pretty sweet.
They don't require students to be Christian to attend, which was nice, but they have a great community where you can learn and grow in your faith without having one denomination shoved down your throat. And while they're probably more strict than your average Catholic college, they're not as strict as Bob Jones, Liberty, or Olivet Nazarene (and less of a party atmosphere than most Catholic schools, too).
The community was awesome, in my opinion. Like I said, it wasn't a party school at all, but there was still a lot to do because of the location. The people there were wicked nice, and I got to know my professors very well. There's a lot of community outreach, too, like students who bring food, blankets, &c. to the homeless of Boston. I also went on a couple different study abroad trips, first to several countries in Europe to study Poland and the Czech Republic joining the EU, and then the Hawaii and Fiji Islands, which was incredible.
Anyway, I hope this helps!
Addition: by the way, the fourth tier is the lowest and THEN there's unranked. Goes to show you how little MarthaB actually knows.... of course, it's easy to just quote rankings if you know nothing about the system. Besides, someone has to be ranked lower -- not everyone can be top-ranked -- and it's often the small Christian schools who have worse reputations then their big, rich, secular counterparts.
