Can someone please rank the CUNY (not SUNY) colleges from best to worse? We Answered:
none of the CUNYs are well-regarded, so you really would be better off going to a SUNY if possible.Timothy Said:
Can anyone tell me what community college(s) here in New York?We Answered:
For you, the biggest bang for your buck will probably be Westchester Community College. It's a large college with a lot of classes, it's not far from where you live, and it has more of a "real college" feel to it than do a lot of the CUNY community colleges. You could also look at Rockland Community College, which isn't all that far from Yonkers. It also has kind of a "collegy" feel to it. And as the other poster suggested, Bronx cc might be a good one to look at. It's really pretty, and it's an easy commute from Yonkers.
But you absolutely should visit any school you're interested in, to get a feel for the place. Visit Laguardia as well, because you want to form your own opinion of the place, as well as looking at websites. That website does appear to be by a group of people holding a serious grudge against Laguardia, and if I were a prospective student, I'd keep that in mind, but also do a campus visit as I tried to form my own opinion, because you don't know what agenda those people have.
Call before you do the visit to see if they offer an actual campus tour, and to see if you can meet with someone in admissions to ask questions of and discuss the honors program with, as well as to try to sit in on a class, if you can.

Consider a Technology degree at SUNY-IT.Don't study TV production. The industry is slowly dying. There are no new jobs.
Erica Said:
What's a great affordable university in New York that I can go to?We Answered:
None of the schools in NYC could be considered affordable. They're all very expensive. Try looking into the SUNY schools upstate, like Buffalo.Raymond Said:
Is this community college a bad one?We Answered:
it is a good cc. You can laugh at your friends in a few years, when they have failed out of a major uni because they dove into the deep end, and you are transfered into a major college, highly successful, and ready to face thw world. major universities are not all that user friendly, and cost a lot more.
