Colleges For Photography

Lena Said:

Are there good liberal colleges with photography available as a study?

We Answered:

Don't know that sociology could be considered a "steady" major [not sure what you mean by that]. It doesn't lead to a career, but is rather a "personal enrichment" type major. It would prepare you for social work school, if you wanted to pursue that. [I was a soc major - loved it, but I've never "used" it for a job.]

You need to find a school where you can take a liberal arts major, if that's what you want, that will also allow you to do a photography course of study. Some photography programs require studio time such that you wouldn't have enough time left to take the liberal arts courses for a major.

Try the college search websites using photography as a course of study, then go through and eliminate the art/tech schools and pull out the liberal arts schools, then go from there in your research. You could also consider art/tech schools where you can also take some liberal arts courses, e.g. Rochester Institute of Technology. I'm sure there are many others.

What are good photography colleges?

We Answered:

Of the top four photo schools are the closest to Illinois is RIT. It is in Rochester, New York.

The others are:
Art Center, Pasadena, California
Brooks Institute of Photography, Santa Barbara/Ventura, California
Cal Arts, Valencia, California

After looking at these schools, you will at least have a better idea of what you can expect in the way of curricula.

What are some photography colleges in California?

We Answered:

I'll tell you now, I live in CA, and I absolutely hate it here, I honestly think you would be better in some other state that isn't having as much money problems as CA.

But if you insist, go to this site,

Harold Said:

Veterinarian or Photography colleges with deaf services?

We Answered:

I believe all colleges would have to offer you services. Denying you proper access to their buildings, degree programs or classes would be a violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Beverly Said:

What are some good photography colleges?

We Answered:

SAIC has a good photo program as well.

Charlie Said:

What are the best photography colleges world wide?

We Answered:

Any where in the world? Would you seriously spend a lot of money (assuming that you are in the US) go to Europe for a four-year degree because it's the best in the world?

You haven't done any research, have you?
