We Answered:

Ron Said:

What are some good broadcasting colleges in Chicago?

We Answered:

Very near to Chicago, Northwestern University is a very well respected university in Evanston. Especially in television and broadcast journalism, people who graduate from there with these majors are said to be picked up by the "Northwestern mafia", a nickname for Northwestern alumni who are very influential in the communication field. They would pick up and nurture Northwestern graduates seeking a career. In cities such as New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago, the number of Northwestern alumni involved in theater, film, and television has lead to perception of there being a "Northwestern mafia".

Francisco Said:

What Chicago colleges existed in 1898 that admitted women?

We Answered:

Northwestern is a possibility. They had a Women's College in that time period.

Just as a side note, Quakers founded quite a few colleges (not including Northwestern), such as Swarthmore, Bryn Mawr, Haverford, Guilford, Barclay, George Fox, Malone, Wm Penn U, etc. Earlham, too, of course, in Richmond, Indiana.
