Colleges In Maryland

Ana Said:

What colleges in Maryland accept credits from Tesst College of Technology?

We Answered:

TESST is a trade school with inferior ACCSCT "national accreditation". Regionally accredited (ie fully legitimate) schools will usually not accept credits from school that are not regionally accredited.

I suggest you leave this TESST "school" as quickly as possible and enroll in a community college. It was a very bad decison to attend TESST.

What are some Maryland colleges in cities with great nightlife?

We Answered:

There aren't any colleges located in DC neighbourhoods known for their night life. If you wanna get to the heart of DC's night life, you'll have to head into Dupont Circle via the Red Line. The closest one in Maryland is UMD which is located in College Park on the Green Line (hint: the other side of town). American University and George Washington University are both closer to the Dupont Circle stop (with AU being the closest--4 subway stops from their station). However, the latter two universities mentioned can be very competitive due to their academic rigor.

Or you could always try your luck at Georgetown.

What Maryland colleges and universities offer a good Forensic Science program?

We Answered:

You shouldn't watch so much television...

ADDED
Johns Hopkins does not have an undergraduate degree in "Forensic Sciences". It does have a Master degree in Forensic Nursing.

University of Maryland—University College is regarded as a joke, trading on the good name of "University of Maryland", but in reality it is just the online arm of the University of Maryland system.
Most colleges/universities offering "Forensic Science" are worthless opportunistic for-profit schools, such as U of Phoenix, Everest, ITT, Kaplan.

What are some colleges in Maryland with a good music program?

We Answered:

Hey! I just went to grad school at the Peabody Conservatory! It's lovely in Baltimore...anyway, I would have to agree w/ the guy above me. I went to the University of Maryland (College Park) for a Masterclass, and their performing arts center is really nice. The campus is also great, it has an energetic feel. You should definitely check them out - you may like it better if you want a "large university" feel (although I suppose if you go to Peabody you can go up to the Homewood campus of Hopkins to do "campusy" stuff - although Univ. of Maryland has a good football team AND marching band). Good luck!

I would say def. Peabody and University of Maryland - College Park for sure!

Any good veterinarian colleges in maryland?

We Answered:

There are no colleges in Maryland. Your best option is Virginia-Maryland college of veterinary medicine and i believe the main campus is in Virginia. You would still get in-state tuition.
It will not be affordable. It takes 8 years total. Your first 4 years you would be earning a bachelor's degree. This can be in any field and can be done at almost any 4 year school. Try to get a scholarship and financial aid or find the cheapest school you can so that it is affordable. Vet school is not affordable. You will be paying 16-25,000 in tuition assuming you go in-state. Plus you would need books, living expenses, etc. Most vets graduate with somewhere between $150-300,000 in student loans and that doesn't include what they might have from earning their bachelor's degree.

Vets do not make a lot. They do make enough to be able to live comfortably and pay off their loans, but they make much much less than doctors. They even make less than pharmacists, optometrists and chiropractors. The starting salary for a vet is currently around 60-70,000/year and the average overall is around $100,000. Doctors are going to be at least twice that.

You will need a lot of science courses. The classes to get into vet school will be heavy in general biology, chemistry and physics. Then once you are in vet school you will get into much more specific biology courses like anatomy and physiology, immunology, virology, pharmacology, parasitology, etc.

It is very hard to get into vet school. In addition to good grades and test scores you also need practical experience working for a vet as other animal related experiences.
