Colleges In Pa
Ray Said:
What are the best colleges in PA that have a good "premed" course? We Answered:
Wow, what happened on the SAT?I don't think that would disqualify you from any of these schools except Penn. Penn is pretty tough to get in and they might see that SAT as a weakness, but it would depend on what they think of your high school - if kids from that school have done well at Penn in the past they might overlook your low SAT.
I think you have a good chance at any of the others, based on your GPA and extracurriculars. I don't think there is any advantage in going to a private school... you can get a good education at Penn State. I'm sure they send lots of kids on to med school each year. Save you money for med school tuition. You're going to need it!
Good Luck.

What are some good colleges in PA for a secondary education major? We Answered:
All of the State schools are really good for education.Clinton Said:
What are some colleges in PA/ NY that have good history majors/good secondary education for history degrees? We Answered:
It appears that you are looking for a BS Secondary Education with history as a teaching field. You probably ought to have at least one more teaching field. And if there is any way you can take some upper division courses in "reading" by all means do it.Teachers make okay pay but you won't be rolling in bucks so keep your costs down. That usually means state supported schools.
In PA and NY, I came up with 52 small and medium size schools that meet your needs.
Go to collegeboard.com,
enter type of school public and small and medium,
for location I think you should put less than 20 miles from your zip code [live at home if you can and keep the costs down - you will thank me if you do this], and
for majors put in secondary education, history, and also at least one additional teaching field.
If you live anywhere near Buffalo, SUNY Buffalo is the place to go where you can get that reading specialization. Teachers with this credential are always in demand.

Does anyone know what state is a good one for getting in to nursing school via a community college, PA stinks? We Answered:
Well Im not sure where you live in PA, but thats where I live, and my best friend went to nursing school at community college of Allegheny county, near pittsburgh, and she is an LPN, and doing great. My sister also started there this fall for their nursing program as well. Its a huge college, with 4 different campuses, and they have a wonderful 2 year nursong program. They accept anyone who applies into it. My sister didnt even have to take her SAT's, she just had to take placement testes when she got there, so they knew where she fell in math and english, but if you are willing to move and want a community college, then Community College of Allegheny County is a great school. The website is www.ccac.edu, so you can go to that website and check it out.Paula Said:
What should I major in to be a publicist or talent agent for actors? Do you know of any colleges in PA or NY?We Answered:
Forget about a college major for the entertaiment. industry, it doesn't work that way. Many people in the industry, publicist, talent agent, etc. get a job through referrals by other people in the business.
Network and get to know friends that work in the industry and tell them your goal. Ask them to let you know if they hear of any internships at the various agencies in the city where you live.
The entertainment industry is a "hands on job." You will probably start as an Intern to the Talent Agent or a Junior Agent.
Classes will not help you. The entertainment industry is "on the job, training," either by the owner of the Talent Agent or the sub-agents in the office.
You will make and fetch coffee, photocopy actor headshots/resumes, run errands and answere the "non-stop," telephone. You must take telephone messages accurately.
The agency business is not difficult. It's a lot of telephone work and going to the theater, depending on what the focus of the office where you will intern/work, Film, Theater, etc.
