how about studying ACCA in South Africa any recomended colleges? We Answered:
I'm currently studying B.CommAccounting Sciences at the University of Pretoria - which leads can lead to ACCA accreditation. I personally want to go all the way to CA(SA), and I know the best Universities for that are1) University of Cape Town
2) University of Pretoria
3) University of Johannesburg
4) University of Stellenbosch
The courses are very difficult though, as South Africa focusses mainly on the Chartered Accountant and thus the universities' syllabys also follow this route, but you don't have to complete your honnours degree for ACCA - which helps a lot.
You can even study it through the post via UNISA, which means it's a lot cheaper and you can start working immediatly - you miss out on a student life though.
Also have a look at smaller colleges like Monash which are present in most of the bigger cities. (Can't log onto their webpage though)
Before choosing a University, consider it's culture. For example, Stellenbosch is in beautiful winelands country, but it's VERY Afrikaans and more conservative. Whereas Pretoria has something of everything and is more like a big town than a big city like Jo'burg, which, like Cape Town is more cosmopolitan.
Not totally sure about the whole CA(SA) vs ACCA thing and how it would work should you return to another country - but check out the SAICA forum listed, to the bottom somebody explains it quite well, but as I'm not sure what you plan on doing after you studied, I'm not sure how relevant it is.
Should you decide on becoming a CA though (it's really easy to get work anywhere in the world, and when switching countries you only have to study the additional company and tax laws, while you're already working), I would opt for Australia, as you don't need an honnours degree to start articling. I actually wish I went that route!
Anyway, hope this helps!

Which is the easiest college to get into South Africa? We Answered:
If you had good grades then you won't have any problem getting into universities. For the degrees you are considering, you will have to have a good grade in maths. Stellenbosh University is a very good university for engineering, but very Afrikaans and it could be a problem if you only understand English. UCT (University of Cape Town) is also very good. Also UJ (University of Johannesburg). Here is a link to a list of the universities is South Africa. Go to their websites and see if they offer what you are looking for.
