Would you give birth in Lewisham hospital or King's College if you lived in South East London?

We Answered:

Hey, I'm in exactly the same situation! I am 13 weeks pregnant and looked into all the possibilities, in SE London including giving birth in France where we have a holiday home, but in London Lewisham is by far my closest hospital. Like you, this is my first child, so I can't offer experience of birth in either hospital, but after much consideration I came to the view that I would go with Lewisham. Yes, I know what people say - it is old and looks run down - yes, it is an old hospital but the maternity block is brand new. I have also been a patient in Lewisham for a non maternity matter some years ago. I basically came to the view that unless I went private - ie at st Mary's Paddington or the private unit at St Thomas's, (paying £10k plus to do so) then I was better off at Lewisham. I have a fairly complicated medical history and use private consultants, and have previously supplemented with private pregnancy scans, etc. I have also been referred to a specialist midwife team and have found the personal continuity of care that I have and will be receiving to be very reassuring. It is a major administrative nightmare to get everyone talking, and now that I have, I don't want to have to start over again. Basically if you go with any NHS hospital you will get the same issues of lack of privacy, not having your own room etc, so unless you go private, where in my experience the difference is exponential, then you are better off sticking to a hospital you can get too quickly. I spent the last three years visiting three elderly family members in hospitals throughout the UK, and trust me, the general issues are the same wherever you go. The surveys for the maternity ward are also confusing. I took the view that in SE London generally a high proportion of women surveyed do not speak english as a first language, and have different cultural experiences, so it is very hard to rate a subjective question like "was the hospital clean/very clean" and "were you treated with respect?" etc. My experience of everyone at Lewisham so far has been incredibly positive. Just my views anyway - but I would be very interested in knowing what you decide - I agree, we have alot of difficult choices to make and this is just the start!

East London People about College?

We Answered:

It is a real University. If you have an address that usually means that it is legit. Write to them, email them, and ask about the tests and explain you are worried about making a trip unnecessarily, only to be told that you need to pass exams before entering. Unless you used a translater for the above question, you have fantastic English, and so do not need to worry about the Exams, which is probably why the Uni is not worried.

Again hun, log onto the website, go onto multi-map where you can see an aerial view of the College, and this may save yourself some worrying!

Harold Said:

Will London East Bank College can come back to the list again? If the can then when?

We Answered:

Only UKBA can answer your question. But we can always make a guess. The college you mentioned is currently suspended along with many other colleges. It is not very old college and is not offering any special course.

It was recruiting heavily from Bangladesh, Nepal and India. Recently the visa processing has been stopped at these locations.

Now you add that up and you should be able to get your answer. By the third week of Feb you will get a clearer picture as this suspension normally lasts about 1 month, after which they will either be back or the licence will be revoked.

Best thing for you would be to not go to this type of colleges or even universities. Unless they are red brick. Uk education is not at all good , during Tony blair time the economy was doing well so they opened the door to students. Now they are increasing the visa fees every year. You will not gain anything from education and you will not be able to find any work either.

So stay put and don't waste money on UK , the UKBA knows the visa loopholes they create it themselves to either earn money or for cheap labour . Currently the elections are coming so they want to show they act tough on immigration.

So don't waste time or money on UK , their mentality is to use people when they need them.

It is not worth it , if you applied to any UK college which is suspended I would ask you to get a refund as soon as possible because if their license is revoked your money will be gone.

UKBA will enjoy your visa fees and college your course fee. .They both are partners in crime.
