VIT is the best college,but its 3hour journey from chennai central,its in vellore.But you have to give their own exam,or you should have good marks in 12th standard.And also its very costly college.
Apart from VIT,
SRM Engineering college(SRM UNIVERSITY) Is the best college in chennai,But its also costly college.But SRM will give u good placement.And its also have very good infrastructure.you can visit their website

Apart from these college you can go for hindusthan engineering college,sairam engineering college,bharath engineering college,vells engineering college,mgr engineering college etc...etc...etc...
But SRM and VIT is much better then other colleges.
