Find The Right College

Kelly Said:

How do you find the right college or university ? Aren't they all basically the same ?

We Answered:

No not every school is the same.
Ohio State University is one of the largest universities in the US. It is huge, bigger than some towns. Some freshman classes can have 200 students in them. My son's college in TN, has at the most 30 students in his classes. Last semester, his largest class had 18 students in it. All the teachers know each student. There is a big difference in these two schools and neither is right for all students
Illinois State University is excellent for an educational degree, but for engineering I would send you to the University of IL. Each school can have departments that excel over others.

We visited Butler University in IN. A great school, excellent department in my daughter's major. We were not there 10 minutes and didn't like it at all. Went to Ball State University and loved it. Both good schools, one was right for us.
My daughter would not apply to Loyola University-great school, but she didn't want to be in the city. My son's school is surrounded by mountains and an hours drive to the nearest big city.
different schools for different students.

What is the best way to find the right college?

We Answered:

I would research "dermatology education" or school on the web...read up on a few that you like because of location or whatever. Request information on-line from that school, they will send you stuff in the mail. Once you find one you like, ask to go visit the campus!! Good luck!

how do you find the right college or university for you?

We Answered:

All dietitians have a background in health within their college education. Do take those Health courses, as they offer all kinds of helpful knowledge you will find helpful in becoming a dietitian such as science, the human body, nutrition (which is very necessary), and others. How many years depends upon you. People looking for help from a dietitian want them to have a great backround in the field. So that would mean 4 years in college, and then maybe graduate school- how long that takes is up to you. It's usually at a minimum of two years.

It shouldn't be a sweat for you- I can tell that your dreams are big, and they serve as great motivation for your future!

Good luck, Almost Dietitian! :)

How can i find the right college?

We Answered:

The college board site is extremely selective. One criterion selection on the student's part may eliminate hundreds of colleges. Try it again and specify as few criteria as possible.

You may improve your chances if you look for a major in media (communications), rather than in film.

There are only three film schools in the USA that are worth attending if you want a career in the Hollywood industry. They are NYU, UCLA and the University of Southern California. UCLA does not accept students into its film program until the junior year of college and almost everyone accepted has completed the first two years of college at UCLA in another major or as an undeclared major. Even graduates of these three schools will much more often than not have a very difficult time in finding a steady career in the industry if they find any career in it at all.

I hope that this answer has been helpful even though I have not been able to suggest a new website.

What is the best way to find the right college for me?

We Answered:

Probably any good liberal arts college would work. A university will have a broader range of courses, though all colleges should offer creative writing, computer science and graphic design.

I'm guessing you might be leaning towards computer games/simulation, which brings together the three of these things.

The College Board has a great college search/match tool for finding the right school for you, and notice that game design is one of the top things students look for.

Only real, accredited schools are listed, so you won't get junk with this search. You can also search by location, school size, and other things. Anyway, here's the link: http://collegesearch.collegeboard.com/se…

How does anybody find the right college to attend?

We Answered:

I suggest you start out by going to a community college. If you have to ask these questions, you are not ready to attend a 4 year college.
