Grants and scholarships are about the only "free money" there is. The next step are loans through outside companies but even that you have to go through your financial aid office for. My credit is well how you say sucky but to date I have been able to get 5500.00 in the last year. Down side have to start paying within 6 months of graduation so make sure you are in a field where finding a job is not an issue.Most are federally subsidized which means no interest payments those that are not interest can be deferred until you are out of school.

Fastweb is good, but its application form is a bit weak on asking for a lot of details. I came across an even better free membership scholarship search at Scholarship Experts which has a very thorough survey and dives into a person's background to locate even more scholarships tailored to your individual background. Scholarship Experts is also recommended by Forbes Magazine. I also have tried both services in the past, so this comes from personal experience.

I don't think any are quite as good as you describe, but take a look at Oklahoma's Oklahoma Promise program. There are some financially "needy" qualifications, but the way they are written, just about anyone can qualify using 'delayed compensation' for instance.

Free College! A lump sum of money would be wasted on crap! Besides, free college means something, it is a way to improve and advance. All of those centuries Blacks weren't allow to learn how to read or learn, free college is perfect.

Most people are too uneducated to understand the long term lasting effects of the enslavement and the black mentality. Less than 50 years ago, blacks were banned from attending decent schools, and were led to think that they had no future in anything besides physical labor. Parents raised their children with the same idealisms. White slave owners passed on their plantations to their kids, some people still own that land and have lasting money from the work of black slaves. It takes more than a lifetime to turn around that kind of brainwashing. Use your brains people.

It can be both ways. It depends on your taxes for last year, they go by your income. You apply for financial aid and then you can be approved for grants, student loans etc. If you do not qualify for grants you can take student loans and pay them back when you finish school.
