Georgia Colleges And Universities

Brandy Said:

How can I specifically search for STATE colleges/universities within a state, for example Georgia?

We Answered:

Visit this website: www.usg.edu. It is the website for the University System of Georgia. It lists all public colleges and universities in the state and has links to the individual schools' websites.

And no, all state universities do not have to have the word "State" in their names. In Georgia for example, Georgia Institute of Technology, Gordon College and Georgia Southern University are all public/state schools.

Also, make sure you visit www.gsfc.org for information on the HOPE Scholarship you mentioned. I'm sure you have to be a Georgia resident for at least a year before you can take advantage of it.

Good luck!

What good colleges/universities around the georgia area would be good for pre-med courses?

We Answered:

There are many cities in Georgia. There are many colleges in different cities. Can you be more specific?

Emory and Georgia Tech are located in Atlanta. Emory is a private school that's very hard to get into. It's renowned for one of the best schools in the country to study medicine. Georgia Tech is not as renowed as Emory. The school has many science degree programs.

EDIT: The first thing to picking a college is finding one that suits your needs. There are several factors: campus size, ration between student and professors, college extraccuriculars, etc. To determine what school is best for you, get the U.S. News & World Report's College Ranking Guide.
