Ivy League Colleges List

Natalie Said:

Which colleges are considered Ivy League, and which schools are considered Ivy Clones?

We Answered:

I've never heard the term ivy clones used anywhere because that would mean that are the same - and no two schools are the same.

There are other good schools such as those already mentioned (Rice, UTAustin, UMich Ann Arbor, UCBerkeley, CooperUnion, Caltech, MIT etc.) Also keep in mind the liberal arts colleges like Amherst, Swarthmore, Pomona, Bowdoin, and Williams.

Ivy League is the name for a football league comprised of 8 of the oldest schools in the U.S. If your are choosing a college based on status alone you will likely be unhappy there.

Tracy Said:

Is 1660 in the new SAT score bad? that ivy league colleges will have a bad impression on my score list?

We Answered:

i got accepted to LeMoyne, Syracuse University, University of Connecticut, UCLA, and Yale with a score of 1770 last year. but my normal school grades were in the upper 90's if that means anything to you. wherever you want to go, make sure you set up interviews with admissions officers. this helps put a face to the name & application. it's worth it

Wade Said:

why doesnt europe have ivy league colleges?

We Answered:

I love this question it's like the perfect storm of ignorance, arrogance and profound stupidity.

Firstly, Einstein a European was educated in Europe attaining his Ph.D. from the University of Zurich, Switzerland. Here's a map because I'm almost positive a person like you has absolutely no Idea where Zurich is. http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=47.56…

Secondly, Europe has many of worlds greatest universities, which in most European countries are completely free, they are in mine, so unlike your son I won't be crippled with debt. Not to deny that United States of America has some fantastic Universities.

Thirdly, although American and European Colleges and Universities are on a par, European schools blow the United States of America out of the water when it comes to education at a pre University level. It isn't too wild to say that Europeans that don't go to College are better educated than there American Equivalents. Making are societies better educated as whole, as this question kinda shows.

You see we Europeans know you have to actually pay taxes to have good schools, we pay teachers decent wages and we pay for good facilities.
