As it says on the site, you *have* to be accepted to study at one of these places to be eligible for a visa.

Here are the main ones, they are all very central:

University of Manchester is huge ('Victoria University, Manchester' is the old name)
Royal Northern College of Music
Manchester Metropolitan University

The University of Salford is not far from the centre but they get cross if you suggest it's 'in' Manchester!!
There is also The Manchester College - don't know much about that, I think it's new.


UMIST (my old uni) no longer exists, it's been amalgamated into the Uni of Manchester :-(
