Claude Said:

Could you check my English C.V.?

We Answered:

Hi, Kim J...

Objective:
IN A SENTENCE, say what position you want (usually you tailor the sentence to the specific job so that it catches the attention of the person reviewing your CV).

Education:
You mention that you want a position in accounting, but you say here that you majored in business administration. Did you not major in accounting? If you did, then say so.

Work and Abroad Experience:
Say Work Experience and Experience Abroad
or just Work Experience

Explain the following:
Move the ACCA information to the Education section. It is a course.
Move the Dublin English course to the Education section.
Work experience in Dublin (What did you do?)
DCM (Spell this out or explain it.)
If the snowboard experience was not work, delete it.
Do not discuss snowboarding skills if you are trying to get a job in accounting. Delete snowboarding.

Certificates:
Delete driver's license information. Not important.
Add the cities where you received the IHD certificates.

Cover letter:

Dear Sir/Madam (No. No. No. If you can identify BY NAME the person who will read your letter, then use that person's name. If not, use the name of the department where you will send the letter plus "representative." Examples:
Dear [Human Resources] Representative:
Dear [Personnel] Representative:
But try to get a name.

Second paragraph:
Why do you have to mention your communication skills? A "native" speaker would not do so unless it concerned a position in communications.

Third paragraph suggestions:
I like being in contact with foreign people...new AND exciting experienceS and A creative feeling.
In 2001 London...summer mission [comma] I HAD experiences WORKING door to door, AS A STREET-SIDE VENDOR OF BOOKS, AND DISTRIBUTING FLYERS.
In 2006 Dublin, I LEAD a group of Irish teenagers...
It was A good chance...
...from the UNITED STATES and Hong Kong [no comma] and selling them in [name of your country] [comma] when I was a student.
Delete "I had to pay much customs to Korean post but"
Say what the import experience taught you or what you learned from the experience.

Hope this helps.

I don't know the answers to some of your questions, but perhaps this might be of interest to you.

Here is an idea where you can accomplish something worthwhile and learn many skills such as leadership, organizational skills etc. which you can later mention in college and graduate school applications or job interviews:

Start a cybermentoring program.

You can easily start this program at your school. It is is fun to do, will make a difference in people's lives (and being the one to start the club will look great on your college applications also). A full guide with EVERYTHING you need is at: www.OnGiantsShoulders.org ; (note: NOT .com).

We do not have a branch in England, so you would be the first. Let us know if you decide or are thinking about starting your own branch of "On Giants' Shoulders" and feel free to ask any questions. We will be happy to help. Email us through the Contact Us section of our website.
