Majors In College

Ernest Said:

What college majors make a good amount of money?

We Answered:

Pharmacists make $80-100,000 straight out of school with no experience. Pharmacy majors also take a lot of chemistry classes, so much of what you've learned might be useful and transfer over. On the downside, it's a 6 year degree so if you've invested a lot of time in the Chemistry degree, you might not want to spend the extra time in school.
Don't know what chemists earn....

Bobbie Said:

What are good college majors that will allow me to be successful?

We Answered:

I would major in something that you are both interested in and has a good chance of getting you hired. If you stink at design, don't major in it, even if you love it, because you probably won't get a job.
I agree with the person who said to major in business. This assures a job upon graduation, and you can use those skills to sell your own work. The most successful young artists I know have done something similar to this.

What college majors to become an airline pilot?

We Answered:

check out UAA.aero

This will give you a complete list of all colleges that are part of the University Aviation Association. Pick a school that fits your lifestyle and interests not one that has the biggest advertisements in Flying magazine.

Most college flight students will major in some sort of aviation management or administration. These degree choices give you a lot better idea of how an airline run from the operational side and a background with some understanding of business in general. With that being said these aviation centered majors really limit your flexibility when it comes time to job hunting in case the aviation job market doesn't yield any openings. It is not uncommon for pilots to do their flight training with a school and major in something that has nothing to do with aviation as a backup plan. I major in aviation management at SIUC and fly in their program too. The job market for pilots is pretty bleak right now but with my management degree I have the opportunity to intern for many major and regional airlines or even corporate flight departments on the operational side. Anything helps to get your foot in the door with an airline helps. A diverse background though helps your resume and you should think hard on if you really want to focus your entire college experience on just aviation.

What college majors would be helpfull to take if im interested in doing makeup for film.?

We Answered:

Honestly the most helpful thing is to apprentice under an experienced makeup artist, classes can only teach you so much. I'm not sure what you could take at a four year college that you couldn't learn at cosmetology school though.
