Nashville Auto Diesel College

Erika Said:

im about to go to nadc(nashville auto diesel college) and was wondering what a high performance mechanic is?

We Answered:

It's a mechanic that works on specialized car engines that are custom tuned to maximize power output. Today's production line automobile is not the target for their work.

This type of mechanic knows about turbochargers, cylinder head modifications, cylinder head modifications, high performance ignition coils, and more. The engines they work on may have 10, 12 or even 16 cylinders. High performance engine schools provide the advanced mechanic with the training on how to build custom engines, maximize the horsepower of their engine, and how to modify the chassis, suspension, and axle setup of their car.

High performance engine mechanics find employment in specialty shops targeted at the hobbyist, or as a part of race care teams. They could also work in the Flight field.

Good Luck!

Nashville Auto Diesel College?

We Answered:

I do know someone who went there. They liked it but they had a real hard time finding work in that field. It was mainly finding anything in more of a rural area that paid decent enough to get by. I think it would work out great if you were in a more populated city or worked for a specific company on their trucks if you catch my drift! Good luck though!

Clayton Said:

Anyone Attending Nashville Auto Diesel College? Can I get my car fixed by students there for a little less?

We Answered:

I would definitely say call the school. That is the easiest way to go about it.

Here is the details:

NADC
1524 Gallatin Road
Nashville, TN 37206
615-226-3990
Toll Free: 1-800-228-NADC

They should be more than happy to tell you about if it is offered, and if so, give you details on when you can take your car in, etc. Also, if the shop doesn't offer it as a whole, offer to leave your name and # info and maybe a student from there is interested and an contact you. Just an idea. (?)

Good luck!

Sally Said:

Do high school electives classes help you get into college?

We Answered:

Hi Ryan, this is Jon B. from WyoTech. Kella had a very insightful response: taking these specialized courses is a good sign that you know what you want to do. While a lot of different factors go into being accepted by a college, having a passion will make you stand out.

For WyoTech, the first step in the admissions process is a face-to-face interview with one of our reps. During this interview, the rep will fill you in on admissions requirements, financial aid, campus life, and program information. Check out the Admissions Process page of our website for some more detailed information: http://www.wyotech.edu/program/automotive-technology/admissions

Is Nashville Auto Diesel College a good school?

We Answered:

I GRADUATED FROM NADC IN 2004 . IT WASN'T WHAT THE MADE IT TO BE. I WENT FOR COLLISION REPAIR AND I LEARNED A LOT FROM THEM BUT THE SCHOOL WAS CROWDED AND IF YOU DONT STAND OUT TO THE INSTRUCTORS YOU GET LEFT BEHIND.I WAS ONE OF THE LUCKY ONES. THE SCHOOL IS OLD AND IN A BAD PART OF TOWN AND I MEAN BAD.I SUGGEST YOU AND YOUR SON TAKE A TRIP DOWN THERE BEFORE YOU SPEND THE EXTREME MONEY THEY CHARGE .

We Answered:

right now is a bad time to be looking for wrench work.... with people buying less cars and shops all over laying people off a rookie would have a very hard time finding a job in the automotive field.... you would be better off learning diesel and working on trucks... no matter what the economy is truck have to move and deliver goods so theres more work... not much more... and it pays alot better...
