Which city to choose in English speaking Europe...?

We Answered:

First of all, if you hold an EU passport (even if held as a dual citizen national) you do NOT need a either a visa or a sponsor to work or study. This info is not correct

As an EU passport holder (with some exceptions in the case of a Bulgarian or Romanian national) you are free to move to and seek work in any of the EEA countries.

So the immigration side of things is not an issue in your case - but the viability of finding a job in the area of football (and I assume you mean the British term of football and not the American one) is going to be harder of course. I would advise you to look for a job to get you going first and then when you are settled then you can start to look for employement in the area you prefer after this.

So looking at your shortlist then to be honest I would rule out Ireland because currently the unemployment level (around 13% compared with 8% in the UK) would mean you are fighting on a very competative stage and without skills/education to set you apart it is going to be tough to get a job in a short time frame

If I were you, then I would look towards either Liverpool or Glasgow/Edinburgh out of the options you have picked.

Look at Monsterboard.co.uk and look for job adverts in these area's first. What kind of jobs are there? Are these ones that you are suited to? Also call a couple of job agencies in the areas and discuss your chances with them (as their are local and therefore more familiar with the local market). I would personally pick the city when I have the biggest chance of getting a decent job.

With regard to your hobbies then all three cities are actually great cities and have plenty to offer with football, music, art & culture - perhaps to a slightly lesser degree Glasgow from my expeirence - but certainly Liverpool & Edinburgh are wonderful choices.

I wish you much luck!

Which University would be best for me?

We Answered:

There is only one way to decide; go and visit them and see which one takes your fancy. Don't think to hard about it.

I went to Sheffield and that was a wonderful three years but they were from 84 to 87 so not much help. :-)

whats it like to live............?

We Answered:

Hi, I live in Glasgow but only as a student so I don't know the whole city all that well. I had a search online, and it looks like North Glasgow College is in Springburn (I don't know if it has other campuses across the city) it is near Springburn and Barnhill railway stations, so it should be possible to commute pretty easily from the city centre. The centre is good for students although accommodation can be pretty pricey depending on what area you are in, and if you are in a cheaper area, then there is a greater risk of crime.

Personally I don't now enough about Springburn to be able to advise you whether or not it is a good area to live in, but perhaps that would be an easier option? The college is around 2-3 miles from the city centre so depends how far away from college you are willing to be!

try www.citylets.co.uk and lettingweb.co.uk for flats, or perhaps gumtree.co.uk for flat share and other flats, just watch out for scammers! These sites should give you a good idea of the prices of flats and what you can afford... rent can be so expensive!

Good luck whatever you choose, and have a great time studying in Glasgow!

Edit: The person who suggested halls, or private halls, definately made a good suggestion, having bills and internet provided is much easier, and if you are living in halls or with other students you are exempt from council tax... if you are living with professionals, you will be exempt but they have to pay... so they might want to split the bill... halls are also a great way of getting to know other students and the area, and you are bound to make lots of friends!

Alright, Question about life and jobs and business in UK?

We Answered:

You need to stay where you are. The UK has put a cap on Immigration, so your chances of getting a job here in any sort of business are nil. We do not have enough work here for our own people.
