The main campus is in Lake Worth and it's been around for many years. Students are of all ages, backgrounds, and nationalities, and most do not live close to the college. It was a 2-year community college until recently. Now they've got a steady 4-year curriculum and they dumped the small-time name. It's not top-of-the-line for a Florida college, but then again, none of them are. If you're looking for the rowdy college atmosphere, dorm parties, and hangouts where everyone goes, it's not here. After classes, students drive home.

The city of Lake Worth is profoundly diversified. Some parts of town are great, others are a complete wreck. The best street for hanging out is Lake Avenue in downtown, a short ride from the college. The beach is good and there's a great fishing pier. I would go in that direction to get a feel for the local Lake Worth attitude...mostly jazzy.
