Jeffrey Said:

Do state universities accept community college students from same state?

We Answered:

Yes, they should transfer if the community college is properly (nationally helps as well) accredited. Call the four year institutions to ask if they take credit from the community college you are thinking of going to.

Community colleges are a lot cheaper and classes are often smaller and are offered at more times to fit around work schedules.

Check with your community college - they may already have specific program information on transferring to other schools.

Here in Indiana we have a program called TransferIn (transferIN.net), which lists general classes for the public institutions around the state. Even if you don't transfer an entire degree from your community college, most english, math, communications, computer, and basic science courses should transfer to a four-year institution. Your state may have one as well.
