Welcome to being an adult. I remember getting my first paycheck on an internship and going hey-where-did-all-my-money-go. My coworkers laughed.
My previous job had been on campus and not subject to Fica/MC. I'd also made so little that the hit for income taxes hadn't been noticeable.

All resorts for paying college are worn out, or are they?We Answered:
If your parents are refusing to provide their information for you to complete the fafsa, you DO have an option. This is the first year this is allowed, so your school may not be aware. You CAN complete and submit your fafsa online without the required parent information entered. The website will ask you about 17 times if you REALLY REALLY want to do this, but eventually it will go through and be processed. Your school will get your fafsa as flagged with an error because of missing REQUIRED info.
Without your folks info, you can't get the federal Pell grant or any state grants. You can't get any work study or Subsidized Stafford student loans either.
But you CAN take out an Unsubsidized student Stafford loan for up to 5,500 as a dependent freshman. You will need to explain you understand that you are missing out on all the free money, but if your parents refuse, they refuse. Personally I would ask someone in the schools fin aid office to TALK to your parents about why they are afraid to provide the nec info to get you better (free and subsided) financial aid.
Often times these fin aid professionals can ease parents minds about unwarranted fears they have about them providing info. Often times a parent is afraid the IRS will find them, their government benefits will be effected and all kinds of unwarranted and unrelated agencies will come after them or find them. These things simply don't happen and are unrelated to the FAFSA application.
Also, it is important to talk to your folks and let them know that by providing their info they ARE NOT obligated to pay for your school in any way shape or Fashion. On the contrary, by providing their info they are allowing you to pay for you education on your own (without their help) with the best and MOST aid.

Anyone know if it is really worth it to join the Navy,Air force, Etc. for paying college costs? We Answered:
I can't speak for others, but I joined the AF after high school (just wanted to join...it wasn't to get college money). Now I'm out of the AF and back in school using the GI Bill which goes up every year and is $39,000 right now.
This translates to about $1100 in my pocket every month. I currently go to a community college, so I pay for my classes/books at the beginning of the semester and pocket the rest, which rules, but when I transfer next year to UC Berkeley or UCLA, I'll break even. In the end, I will have zero student debt.
Good luck in whatever you decide!

What is the likely outcome for not paying college tuition for dependent children? We Answered:
Even if you stipped in writing, you can probably do a post-judgment hearing for a material change in circumstance and get it modified. Don't delay...Charlie Said:
which very high paying college careers doesnt need any math science physics, or at least almost none?We Answered:
Unfortunately, all the high-paying careers with a bachelors degree require science and math - nursing, engineering, finance, business, architecture, medicine. How about planning to go to law school? That's probably your best bet - if you wanted to spend 7 years in college.
