Santa Barbara community college?

We Answered:

don't feel too bad that you have been rejected by the college of your dreams, you are not the only one feeling the constraint of college acceptances. sigh. so far, i've been rejected by (UCSB, UCSC, UCLA) 3 out of 8 colleges i applied, and i feel like i'm not going to hear good news from the remaining 5 (Cal, NYU, UW Seattle, UChicago, Columbia). i would have never imagined that i would have to enroll at SBCC, but apparently i will have to. As a Santa Barbara local, I can tell you that out city college is one of the best in the world because of the student services provided. you can get a solid education for less, and there are plenty of opportunities to become involved in your career of interest. you can then transfer to a 4 year university and continue pursuing your education. i would say, do come up to Santa Barbara to attend the city college. the town is pretty chill, and the city college campus is across the street from the beach. plus, you can always visit your mother during winter break, summer time, etc... you might want to hook her up to Skype so she can see you even at a distance. well best of luck with your college education, maybe i'll see you next year at the CC. haha

santa barbara community college ethnicity mix?

We Answered:

From my experience all community colleges have a variety of people that go there. Age, race, sexual orientation, etc

Carole Said:

Is it possible to transfer from a 4 year university to a community college, than back to a 4 year university?

We Answered:

I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to do so. I, myself, did the opposite of you. I attended UCSB for fall of last year, but then decided to go back to community near my hometown to "explore" at a lower price than it would cost me if I "explored" at UCSB. With that being said, as long as you keep track of all your classes, test scores, etc. it should be a quick and painless transfer to UCSB.

David Said:

Is it possible to live in santa barbara as a full time college student?

We Answered:

Santa Barbara is an incredibly expensive place to live. Even the local school teachers, fire fighters and the like have to commute like 50 miles to their jobs because housing is incredibly expensive there.

Check out the listings on craigslist to see for yourself. There is no way there for two people working part time for minimum wage to afford an apartment there.

Basically, you live there in dorms when going to UCSB and you live some place else quite a way away when you are not in dorms. Like at home where you are now and go to a CC near there.

Christina Said:

I cant decided between Santa Barbara or Santa Cruz for community college?

We Answered:

What kind of person are you? If you like a little bit more of a southern California party atmosphere, go for Santa Barbara. If you are little bit more of an environmentalist type, go for Santa Cruz. If you like to escape to the big city sometimes, which would you prefer to be near, LA or SF?

Denise Said:

College decision for people in the west coast would you rather go to NAU or Santa Barbara community college?

We Answered:

Santa Barbara for sure!!! I've been to NAU, and it's in a tiny little town with nothing to do. You can only ride there in the winter man. In the in the summer, it just sucks. I'd much rather go to school in Cali.

If you want to ride, go to and school in Colorado. CU-Denver, CU-Boulder, etc..
