I believe that a student athlete should stay in school all four years for the school's sake because the student athlete committed to the school to play their and it should be his or her responsibility to play out their time there. Maybe a team has a superstar NBA prospect for example and is the only player to average double figures in points. It will leave that team in a bind trying to recruit another student athlete of his or her caliber if they decide to leave. Team chemistry could be destroyed if a team's leader leaves early.

If the student athlete was to get hurt before they started there professional career, and signed with an agent and let's say this a career ending injury, they lose eligibility to get there scholarship back if they are at the school on a scholarship and can't return to college. Once an athlete signs with an agent they can't return to school. If they remain in school all four years and they get injured, they have there degree in what they were studying to fall back on, and help them get a job if they can't play sports no more. Him or Her would have to rely on their family to help make ends meet and would just be a burden to the family. If they were to be a bust in professional sports, and turn out no good and can't hook on to a team. Then they wasted there education. The college loses out on money for that scholarship that could have been used to give to an athlete who would stay on all four years. If the athlete decided to play overseas, they would have to possibly uproot there family to go with them, and learn a new different lifestyle and cultural changes in a foreign country. The athlete may need all four years of college, if they don't decide to play a sport for a career. Maybe there scholarship for sports was there only means of getting to college, and they couldn't afford to go to college, and a sports scholarship was there only means of getting to college. Not all athletes will get a chance for a career in sports.

I can give you an example of an athlete who stayed in college all four years, who was both a bust and was injured.
My favorite college team Kentucky, we had a great college Quarterback named Tim Couch who was the first overall draft pick for the Cleveland Browns in 1999. He turned out to be a bust and had numerous injuries, but because he stayed in college, he know pursues a broadcasting career, with the Kentucky football team, as an analyst for TV games for Kentucky. Couch tried out for so many other team when the Browns finally released him and would kept getting cut before the season would start. He has had a successful life, if you look at it from how much money he's earned when he signed a big contract before he was released.

I had to write a journal entry similar to this in fourth grade about whether LeBron James should go to college or go straight to the NBA because Nike offered him a 90 million dollar contract to play for the Cleveland Cavaliers, and he ultimately went on to the NBA. This was back before basketball players were forced to have atleast one year of college before they were eligible to enter their name in the NBA draft. I wrote that six years ago, I'm 16 now.

Being that you are looking at Quinnipiac as your top school, I can gladly assist you with some details about the school, being that I am currently a freshman there. I am an Undeclared Business major, and I will probably declare my major as either marketing or administration next semester. The business school is spectacular. It was rated one of the most up to date and advanced in the northeast a few years ago. Quinnipiac is always expanding. They are currently renovating the Student Center and they just announced the addition of a Medical School. People here at QU are friendly and welcoming, along with the staff and faculty. I have had nothing but great experiences since I arrived here and I'm looking forward to the next 3 years. It's very easy to make a lot of friends here, especially as a freshman. I can almost promise you that if you take a tour of the school, you will absolutely fall in love with it, even if it is only for one semester.
