Jill Said:

Top ten colleges in Texas that is good for a major in biology?

We Answered:

Biology is indeed sort of a 'standard' major, so in general, if you go to a prestigious school, the school will have a very good Biology program
Rice is probably the best, not just overall but in Biology as well. The top 3 in the state are definitely Rice, UT Austin, and Texas A&M.
So...
Rice
UT Austin
Texas A&M College Station
(These are a stop down in terms of prestige)
Texas State San Marcos
U Houston
Texas Tech
U North Texas
U Texas Dallas
SMU
Baylor

What are the top ten colleges for journalism?

We Answered:

Those states have one of the top journalism schools in the country.

In Illinois it is:
Northwestern University

Missouri:
University of Missouri

Indiana:
U of Indiana- Bloomington

Wisconsin:
University of Wisconsin-Madison

Those schools are one of the top journalism schools in the country. The only three that are in the same park field/or better would be NYU, UNC- Chapel Hill, and USC. This would be your list including NYU, UNC- Chapel Hill, and USC for the best undergrad journalism schools in the country. They also have good graduate journalism programs as well. Columbia University is the top school for graduate journalism, but does not have a undergrad degree. UC- Berkeley also has a great graduate program, but no undergrad program. If I was you I would pick the one that is in your state, because they all are just as equally good. This way it would be cheaper for you. It wouldn't matter with Northwestern since it is an private school. Out of the one's I mention in the Midwest, I would go to Northwestern, but it is alot of money than the others. Ohio University also has a decent program and is in the area. They all would give you a decent education. I want to go to NYU or USC because they are like the top two, but are the most expensive. I also want to go to Columbia or Berkeley for my Masters. The other reason is that they have more job opportunities in NYC and LA than the Midwest, it's all about location, too! I would look into all the schools. Good Luck!
