Besides US News & World Reports, what are more resources with college rankings I can utilize? We Answered:
Well US News & World Reports are pretty much the well-known ones, other ones may not be as "legit". It really depends on what you believe. What do you want to major in? Maybe you can look for the schools that specialize & are recognized in that field. Go talk to your counselor or colleges to get a better idea of which college to choose! :)Tyrone Said:
Is anybody familiar with US News and World Report's rankings? We Answered:
Interesting question, I tend to agree with Lili's comprehensive answer. I would personally recommend a tier 1 "Universities-Master's " over a tier 3 "National University." Unfortunately the large universities seem to get more respect amongst laypeople and prospective employers, often do to name/sports team recognition. These large universities often have much larger endowments than the smaller colleges (a heavily weighted parameter in the U.S. News rankings). The large schools have their pluses but their class sizes are often enormous and it is often difficult to build a rapport with your professor as you would in a smaller school with a lower student to teacher ratio.I would also look at some other rating sites like: collegeboard.com, princetonreview.com, and stateuniversity.com to get additional info and outlooks. You won't go wrong with the University of Tampa if this is the school that you want to attend. I wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors!

Why isn't Villanova in the rankings of US News & World Report? We Answered:
Villanova does award doctorates so they are ranked in the North region because they are a "regionally" excellent school. Do a simple search on their web site and you will see graduate programs for doctorates. I have posted links. They offer doctoral degrees in engineering, philosophy, nursing, and many other subjects.Tracy Said:
How do you feel about the 2010 US News and World Report rankings? We Answered:
I'm annoyed with the heavy bias it has toward the Ivy Leagues (Harvard is #1? Oh, I am so surprised). And I am a little disturbed by how they determine ethnic diversity. But honestly, not much has changed. Of course, this will just make high school students obsess about a school's rank rather than what it has to offer.
