give evidence "A quote from what ever you are looking at"

Then explain how the evidence does your point and why it is important

be precise, dont say the same point a second time but in a different way, practise timed essays at home, give them to your teacher to mark, they will never refuse.
Dont retell the story or piece of writing, this is a classic mistake, only select bits that are relevant, you dont need to tell the examiner about the piece of text, because they will know all about it, your not being tested on your ability to cpy a text, you are being tested on your ability to analyse it

Plan your essay even if you just jote down a few points you want to make, it will help.

Are you mad at the teacher for getting on to your child and sending a note home for you to sign. maybe you should have a talk with your son. ask him what was going on in the class. I am sure that you know what the rules are in his classroom and I am betting that your son knows them too. So if he is breaking rules then he needs to be punished. Even good kids need discipline and punishment to keep going on the right path. I think my kids are great. They are only 2 but they are very well-behaved. But the only reason is that they are corrected and punished when needed. If my kids break a rule they are punished. I don't let them get away with it just because "I know they are good kids at heart".

If you don't want them labeled as trouble-makers then I suggest that you make sure they aren't trouble-makers. Sorry, I know you were looking for someone to say how unfairly your children are treated, but going by what you wrote I think that you need to spend some time teaching your kids that the rules apply to them as well as everyone else.
