Public schools are the only schools that are being assessed. Other countries: don't have special education programs like our and those students are also assesssed. Other countries also have a separation as far as school goes. If the students score high, they can go on past a specified grade and on to college.

A perfect score on the accuplacer test is 120. I got a perfect score on the reading comp part of the test. Anyone else get a perfect score on the accuplacer. I was just wondering how common it is.

Get him the program "Hooked On Phonics". You could probably find some kind of free program online. Just do a search on any search engine.

All children are different and require different needs. For some they will be able to sit down and just study as they do in school.

Others however may need a helping hand in organizing a system for how, when and what to study.

Regardless, the best way I find is to make sure they have a set time and schedule to do it. To make it more appealing make sure you are there to help.If a child gets stuck they will move on and not learn,thus getting very frustrated. Structure is most important ,as well as having a helping hand to guide and praise them.

Eventually they will learn how to study on there own and you will have provided the basic foundation for what they need to succeed.
