You are right to be skeptical.People with Dyscalculia generally can't even do simple arithmetic because they don't recognize plus and minus signs and can't conceptualize numbers concretely.
You can add/subtract/multiply in your head.
As a child you probably enjoyed books and reading and were doubly rewarded with praise and good marks. Students often spend more time on subjects they like and soon become very good at these.
At the same time, you may have had poor teaching in mathematical concepts when you were first starting. So you were left behind. Each new mathematical stage depends on mastering the previous one. Students quickly lose confidence if they experience failure at an early age.
Human behavior is an inexact science and much of it is based on the statistical probability of a certain outcome.
