How would i deal with my asian parents!! RAWR!!!!!!!!! >:(?

We Answered:

My parents are the same, I am middle eastern. Its hard and I feel your pain. I guess the only thing you could do is say that a B+ is accually really good, or get a teacher to talk to her. sorry I am not much of help but you just have to keep on trying to explain. another thing you could do is be like MOM LOOK AT THIS 106!!!! I GOT AN A++!!!! and be really exited, and when you are exited, I bet she will be too.

Is there any website or help thing that will help me on the AP Spanish test?

We Answered:

This should help. I took the AP Spanish test last yr; it wasn't that hard. Don't freak out about it much. I got a 5 on it. The worse part for me was the speaking part so you may wanna practice that. Big part of the test is reading though. Good luck!! I hope this helps!

Where can I find this study about stereotyping and listening comprehension?

We Answered:

Sorry I don't have the specific study on hand, but there are many variations on the theme in the field of social psychology and communication. For example, a very powerful effect can be shown when you listen to someone with a different political affiliation. The same statement will be heard differently depending on the political affiliation of the speaker. Attention, comprehension, and interpretation all are affected.
I would suggest looking at social psychology texts first for good research examples. Then I'd encourage you to create a lesson in which you demonstrate how we listen differently according to the source's perceived characteristics. E.g., you could probably show age bias if your students are younger, by attributing dating advice to an elderly vs. young person. Then explain how to counteract that flaw. For example, have them practice active listening, especially including the requirement of paraphrasing another to the other person's satisfaction.
Good luck.
