Mechanical Comprehension Practice Test

Daniel Said:

ASVAB Practice Test Results?

We Answered:

You can't calculate the AFQT score on your own. There is no 'equation' for it. You get various point amounts for various questions based on how difficult they are.

Its been a while, so I can't recall exactly. But you should be able to find suggested scores for each section. Try googling it, or look on about.com for ASVAB scores. That can give you a good baseline for where you stand.

But as for as the final AFQT Score, the only way to find that out is to actually go take it.

Alma Said:

Are these scores good enough to score a 95 in ST? ( took a practice ASVAB test) How is the ASVAB scored?

We Answered:

The ASVAB is scored based on a percentile. You're basically testing to be better than everyone else who takes the test, a 95 means you did better than 95 percent of the people who take the test. You could probably land in the 50-70 range with your scores right now, go and find yourself a book to study up on the stuff you had issues with to get your score up higher. Adding General Science+Paragraph Comprehension+Math Knowledge+Mechanical Comprehension will get you your ST score.

Jessica Said:

How will I do on the practice test at the Coast Guard office?

We Answered:

It's just a practice test... remember you will not get graded on HOW FAST you complete the test so next time when it's FOR REAL, relax and take your time. You should do better.

Martin Said:

what did i score on the asvab practice test?

We Answered:

Of those score you listed only the arithmetic reasoning(AR), word knowledge(WK), paragraph comprehension(PC) and mathematics knowledge(MK) are used to determine your AFQT score. That is the score needed to qualify for the armed forces. The other score are for your aptitude for your job. You WK and PC is good enough. Your AR should be higher and your MK is quite low. My advise to you is go to Barnes and Nobles and get the Algebra for Dummies book and study that. Take as many practice tests as possible. Look at the answers you get wrong and study the areas you do poorly in. After a few tests you should see a pattern of where you need help. Make sure when doing the practice tests to also put a small mark by answers you guess at because you need to study those too because even if you get it right you still didn't know it. There is really no way to study WK. You could study 5000 words and none of them be on the test. PC is easier if you are a reader. However those numbers look ok. Also remember that I cannot give you a approximate AFQT(ASVAB) score because the questions are weighted. For example 2 + 2 = ___ will not score you as many points as 2( 4 - 8 ) - 3 ( 3 + 9 ) = Just like for WK the word "envy" won't get you as many points as "ebullient". If you have to ask me to guess I would probably say it might be in the mid 40's. When my wife took her practice test she got WK %= 70's, PC % = high 80's to low 90's, MK % = 70's, and AR % = 80's. Her official AFQT score was a 83.

Gabriel Said:

I took a asvab practice test and I dont understand something...?

We Answered:

the test is designed to examine your basic understanding of mechanics and your you level of communications skills, etc. That said, you could try to bone up by trying to do some small engine repair.

The little system holds all of the most basic essentials for a mechanic. If you can't handle that, you're not gonna make it as a flight mechanic. BTW, your scores are seriously lacking to attain the MOS desired. You'd best study something QUICK.

Not to try to crush your dreams... I praise servicemen for their duty and patriotism. But, to get into the school that you want, you need to do some work to bump your skills.

Good luck to you. Semper Fi.

Leslie Said:

We Answered:

Good job. You should be qualified for most jobs the military offers.
