Well, if the writing above is similar to the essay you did for the placement test, it is easy to see why they think you would benefit from the English 095 course. Form, spelling, punctuation, capitalization have numerous problems.

There is a difference between writing notes to friends and writing professional, formal materials, and perhaps that caused problems for you. In some ways, the essay would be a similar situation to writing for this site: the only way we "know" you is by your writing. The example you've shown us is very informal, and consequently comes across as immature and unprofessional.

They've told you that you could retake the essay, so do it and see what happens. Whatever course you are placed in will be a growth experience if you accept it as one.

Your scores overall, except math, were not exceptional, so it looks like you'll have plenty of room to grow as a student. Polish ALL your skills when you get to college. Challenge yourself. Good luck!
