I would be happy with an A- although I know where you are coming from. It's always been in my nature to get the highest grade I can possibly achieve and sometimes even a 98 gets me down. But, you shouldn't let one assignment get you down. Many would be more than happy to receive the grade that you got and you should be proud that it is in the 90+ zone

Try your parents, but also remember a few tips:
1. Read it slowly and carefully
2. The basic message is USUALLY contained in the first sentence - pay particular attention to that
3. Read a little and then stop and ask yourself if you understand so far. If you are confused, go back and start again.
4. If it's a long article, you MIGHT want to take a few notes as you go.

Here is what I am thinking. You can do whatever you set your mind to doing. I am 26, I don't have a learning disability however I do have 5 kids and I just graduated college with a degree in Medical Assisting. I have aspirations of being a RN soon. So why not try something like that. Go to a technical college where it is a smaller instructor to student ratio and get into medical assisting first and when you learn some basic stuff and terminology and know for sure it is what you want to do. Medical Assistants do all the same thing as a nurse with the exception of giving meds and we get paid less. I think that you should really try this... I bet you are smarter than you give yourself credit for you just need to have more confidence. I wish you well and hope that you do what ever you so desire... it is your right to try!!!

I know of a couple that enrolled their son who's a total spazz, he can't do much of anything or focus on ANYTHING & could barely read at, like, 15 yrs. old. He had to attend private school as there's no way he cudda made it in public school. So he attended Sylvan after school & maybe weekends & after a while......

Sylvan helped him. He's doing fine in school now & keeping up (fairly well) w/ his age group.).

I admire your bravery & your aspirations. Sorry there's nothing economical for you in your area--I don't know of any cheap options other than a tudor, but I doubt that would be as effective as a structured & proven program like Sylvan.
