Sue Said:

What is a good website for Reading comprehension and listening practice?

Julia Said:

What good workbooks can I get a fifth grader to improve his reading comprehension?

We Answered:

I would focus on highly motivational books that will make him WANT to read -- akin to coating the broccoli with chocolate. Comic books, magazines, driver's manual, books that deal with things he's very interested in (motorcycles, electronics, pets, etc.). Reading comp results from practicing reading. Also, be sure your son sees you reading. He'll get the subtle message that reading is important. Keep newspapers around the house for him to pick up. Get a sub to Reader's Digest. Immerse him in words!

Lauren Said:

How can I help my child improve his reading comprehension?

We Answered:

I have the same issue and im 16. When I was younger I used this computer program called "eye Q" and it helped me read faster and comprehend, you use it for 7 minutes a day and you see results. Look it up.
