I don't know the "right" answers for you and there is not enough room here to give full answers; however, #5, checks for comprehension can be accomplished in part by teacher and student questions, awareness of facial and body language, and a variety of checklists. #4 I think reading lessons will include vocabulary development and comprehension skills. #3 Moving from learning facts to drawing inferences is moving up the taxonomy of higher level thinking and can be achieved in part by teacher's questioning techniques. #2 These questions are basic to understanding most stories. #1 has something to do with the brain, logic, and context but I would have to review before I could give a decent answer
