Adult Degree Programs

Tracy Said:

Has anyone taken an online adult degree program?

We Answered:

I havent looked at the degree map for their online program, so it is difficult to know how they might award transfer credits, but generally, if it is a cognate equivalent, the transfer creits are accepted.

Their online degree is a 'degree completion program', and there is nothing wrong with that (CT has Charter Oaks State College). I understand yor worries, but in the end, the degree from City College is a degree... complete it and get your ticket punched, get on the train, enjoy the ride.

Carla Said:

Is there an adult advanced degree program (usually 18 mos) available for attaining a teaching degree in TN?

We Answered:

The schooling processes will probably take more than 2 years at least. As a 2nd Bachelors will require you take a the core content as well as credential course work.

Your best bet for information would be you Dept.. of Education website. As they will let you know what universities have state approved programs and the quickest way of obtaining NCLB mandated Teaching License.

Also, there might be a couple of State exams required. If the state exam is the case, then you might not need a 2nd Bachelors rather pass the state exam in the field or subject or Primary Educ. Then take teacher educ. programs. Usually these prep programs last 1-1 1/2 yrs long .

But start with The TN Dept. of EDUC website, then your states Teacher Commission.

Adult degree program?

We Answered:

no they are not easier than regular classes. they are basically the same classes that are being taught on campus with more flexability to meet your schedule. some can actually be a little more difficult in the sense that you dont have face to face time with your teacher or other students, so if you have questions you have to email them or post them. I have taken alot of online classes and i have done pretty well. it really comes down to how well you manage your time and how well you are able to comprehend things based on reading and research. when looking at online classes you want to make sure they are from an accredited college and from an actual traditional college, not a school that advertises being online and adult oriented like phoenix or kaplan or any of the others that pop right up when doing a search.

undergraduate degree programs for working adults?

We Answered:

I know for a fact that Columbia University does http://www.gs.columbia.edu/home.asp. It is among the best if not the best for adult undergraduate education in the country. I suspect that almost all the schools in the NYC metro area have programs for adults. Investigate the programs carefully, because some may be better than others. Look at how many years the program has been offered. Look at the faculty. Be certain that you will have the opportunity to work with experienced professors, and not just teaching assistants.

Good luck!

Northwood University Adult Degree Program (UC)?

We Answered:

I'm taking classes right now. I work a full time job during the day, and also pick up additional work through my freelancing career. I try to take a good balance of mini sessions and 6 week classes in order to focus on one to two classes at a time. Depending on what state you are in, you should defiantly contact a program center manager and discuss your needs.

Does anyone have info about free educational/adult advance degree programs in Europe?

We Answered:

You won't find any.

Even when there was free university in the UK you had to be British and resident to access it. You are looking at £8000ish at a British uni
