Art Education Degree

Margaret Said:

Art Education Licensure vs Bachelor in Arts degree?

We Answered:

If you complete licensure, yes, you'll be allowed to teach. If you feel really nervous about it and want to check yourself, most states list their approved teacher training programs on their Dept of Ed website.

In some states, you need a Master's before you can begin teaching. In others, you can get it while you are teaching (and you won't have to have it for at least several years). Again, check your state's website. If you don't need it right away, it's often good to wait since sometimes your school will help pay for it after you are hired.

Thinking about an art education degree?

We Answered:

There is certainly no shortage in art teachers today, they are not in high demand at all, so that would be a very tough job to get.

Marcus Said:

What kind of job I can get in Miami with an AA degree in Art/Art education?

We Answered:

Really? I'm sorry if this sounds mean but having an Associate's in art is about the most useless degree I have ever heard of. Even having a Bachelor's in art is useless and will make it impossible to find a job but only an AA? You can't even get a job showing kids how to glue macaroni to paper with that. An AA in any subject isn't worth anything to an employer. I'd be really surprised if you found any job that was remotely related to your field of "study." The best you could probably do is minimum wage at a job that requires no degree. You really should think of something different and go to college. Sorry if that seems harsh but you'll have to find out eventually.

P.S. Who is Sonya? Apparently you can't read or use correct grammar... I'd be wary of taking advice from this person lol sorry you think I'm "giving wrong advises."
