The BEd is a fairly rare course.I do my BEd course at Wolverhampton.

I don't think any of those are close to Oxford (my Geography isn't good!) but sometimes you have to move out of the 'safe' places near your family. I had to move from Leeds to Wolverhampton and although it isn't too far, to does take time to get used to your surroundings.
For your BEd interview, stun them! Take in a portfolio of any experience you have had, you won't believe the amount of people that apply for the BEd course.
If you can, get experience helping out at a summer school or a local youth club for young children.
