Buy A Degree Online

Brittany Said:

I’m looking at buying a degree online to reflect my work experience of 20 years.?

We Answered:

Oh my goodness, please, please, please don't do it. You will be wasting your money. See this article about telling the difference between real and fake online colleges from USA Today: http://bit.ly/9YWtrr

"Some online operations offer a degree based on "life experience." While there are universities and colleges with recognized accreditation that might grant credit based on life experience, the online scams that do typically charge hefty sums and reward entire degrees."

The only way to get a college degree is to study for one and graduate. It is possible to get some college credit for your work experience, but you will have to take and pass standardized tests to earn the credit. You can't earn a whole degree this way, but you can shorten the time it takes to earn one (and save money on tuition, since you can pass out of some classes). This guide to quality online colleges by AIU Online explains it: http://hubpages.com/hub/onlinecollegegui…

I put some links to the two standardized tests recognized by thousands of colleges below. Don't buy the "degree". You'll regret it.

Shannon Said:

Where can I buy the DVD "Six degrees could change the world"?

We Answered:

It looks like the DVD is available at BestBuy.

12550c Amargosa, Victorville, CA 92392

Also in Apple Valley if that is close to you:

18811 Bear Valley Rd, Apple Valley, CA

Willard Said:

is it any way that a student can buy a masters degree online without doing the work?

We Answered:

Yes, there are places that will sell you a degree.

Cost to the seller: 10 sheets of paper, some ink, and a diploma holder - $20.

Amount they charge you: $250 to $1,000.

Actual value: $0

Some states have also started to outlaw the use of such degrees. For example, in Florida, using an unaccredited degree to get a job or a promotion is considered fraud. If you're caught and prosecuted, you could spend up to five years in prison.

Alberto Said:

BUYING A DEGREE ONLINE, WHERE DO I GO?

We Answered:

I think you misled the other answerers with your talk of "buying" a degree. That made it sound like you just want a diploma mill degree. And that would not only be worthless, as the other answerer said, but also illegal in many states... with more states every year joining that group.

But you mentioned exams, so I think what you're actually asking is: How can I, in effect, test-out of college?

You said you know the stuff, and can just do exams.

Fine, then. Just do exams.

It is absolutely possible -- theoretically (and I stress the word "theoretically") -- to completelly "test out" of a regionally-accredited college degree, having never attended a single class. And, more than that -- and also "theoretically" -- it's possible to do it in just 30 days.

That's right: A fully-accredited college degree in 30 days, solely through exams, never setting foot in a classroom.

The guy who built and runs the following web site actually did it. Other's have, too... some in just 30 days, most in somewhat longer (but still only a few months):

http://www.bain4weeks.com

It's serious. It's not a diploma mill. It's not a rip off. It's not a gimmick. The guy's name is LAWRIE MILLER, and he's a member of an educational forum where I used to be an admin. He's the real deal.

He shows, on that site how, solely through standardized testing, it's possible, if you know what you're doing, to get a BA in four weeks... I kid you not. And if not in only four weeks, then in four months or however long it ACTUALLY takes.

And I stress: We're talking about a FULLY REGIONALLY-ACCREDITED, FOUR-YEAR BACHELOR's DEGREE just like what any other reputable college/university offers. No difference.

I don't recommend it, mind you; and most people, at most, only do a PART of a degree that way, and then take classes for the stuff they don't really know well enough to test out of...

...but, hey, it CAN be done.

And, by the way: What makes you think that you're smart enough to not have to take ANY classes. I mean, I'm sure you're bright, but I'm a computer whiz, too...

...more whizzy than YOU, I'll bet...

...and I certainly could not completely test out of a bachelors degree.

So, for starters, I think you need to get your feet back on the ground and re-join the real world. You most certainly can knock-out the greatest part of a four year bachelors degree through exams...

...but I'll bet there are SOME courses that you'd still have to take.

It would surprise me, very much, if even YOU could complete a bachelors, via mostly exams, in less than a year to two years.

Very much, indeed.

Hope that helps.

P.S. To answerer "eri" (who refuses to be emailed, so forces such as I to challenge her publicly): They are most certainly NOT primarily sold in Dubai. Diploma mill "degrees" can be obtained all around the world... at present, from criminals mostly in the US. Islamic countries have surprisingly low numbers of such criminals.

To the reader: The asker/questioner is upset, in part, because he contacted me privately and thanked me for what I wrote, above; then turned around and pointed out that he couldn't find on the web site to which I referred him, a place where he could pay for his (single) bachelors degree exam. This made me say to him that he apparently wanted a degree mill diploma after all because there IS not one exam for a bachelors degree; and he clearly didn't read carefully what I wrote, or a single word on the site to which I referred him. And I then pointed out that I would not help him find a diploma mill degree; and that, as an anti-diploma-mill activist, I sometimes even "outed" people who have them to their employers. I'm ZERO TOLERANT of diploma mills and/or their shills. I then made a flip remark of wonderment about how someone who claimed to be so smart could be so clueless or something like that.

Now the asker adds, publicly, this: " I MEAN im not a college or university guy.. I don't have the attention span nor the social skills to withstand that type of environement.

"I'm a business man in heart, you give me a task i do it.. I get my paycheck.. and see you next time!

"Thats how I work, I hate all the drama and politics that goes on in these institutions. I have everything there is to know about computers and I ******* hate other people!

"I think I'm more qualified at getting a job then most university graduates.. even my friends that graduated IT said that."

To which I NOW reply: Alright, then, perhaps you should get your degree via distance learning. You mentioned A-levels, so you must be in the UK. The University of London's External program is nearly as old as the university iteself, and can claim graduates who went on to become world leaders. It's a fine institution, and if you enrolled in its external program you could get a bachelors degree in your underwear sitting at your computer at home. You'd only have to go outside of your home to take exams once a year.

There are no shortcuts. Even "testing out" as I explained herein, above, requires some serious preparation and work; and likely would take even someone as smart as the asker several months, at minimum.

If you want it quick-and-dirty from "third world countries" and the like, then you're trying to shortcut the process, and that simply cannot ethically, morally, or honorably be done. If you are not honorable, moral and ethical, then by all means go "buy" a degree. Then an activist like me can "out" you 10 years later when you have an important position and your fake degree is listed on a web site somewhere where you work or are sitting on a board or something. Then you will be HUMILIATED and wish you had never been born.

Or, you can DO THE WORK... whatever that is... be it preparing for exams, or sitting in your house in your underwear at your computer and working through one of the U-of-L's programs.

Take your pick. All choices have consequences. Only you can decide if they're to be good and honorable, or bad and embarrassing.
