College Degrees In Order
Howard Said:
what is the order of college degrees you can earn in order from best to worst?We Answered:
Best to worst would bePh.D. (Philosophical Doctorate) (3 years, on average, if you have a Masters, about 5 years if you are "fast-tracked" into the Ph.D. program without a completed Masters. If you are "fast-tracked" into a Ph.D. program any Masters work that you had done is counted toward your Ph.D.)
Masters (1-2 years; university)
Bachelors (4 years; university)
Associate (2 years; community college, business college, junior college, sometimes offered by universities)
Certificate (highly variable - not technically a degree)
The bottom three are all entry-level, if you were to go for a Ph.D. you would start with a Bachelor's usually with honors. A Masters usually comes next, but some people are "fast-tracked" into a Ph.D. program; usually during a Masters if they are doing really well but occasionally directly from a Bachelor's if they have a high academic standing.

what are the college degrees in order?We Answered:
Bachelor's degree (BA, BSc) 3 years but Law, Architecture and Medicine can take up to 7 years.Master's degree (M.A. M.Sc) Normally 1 or 2 years.
A Cambridge or Oxford M.A. however involves no study whatsoever but isawarded ten terms (3 years 4 moinths) after the Bachelor's degree, automatically.
M.A.s can be taught or by research.
Doctorate. (PhD) minimum of 3 years, many candidates take 5 or 6 years and do it part-time. Always involves research.
Dale Said:

Bertha Said:
College degrees in order...? How many years for each?We Answered:
Associates = 2 year degreeBachelors = 4 year degree OR associates + 2 years
Masters = bachelors + 2-3 years
JD (law) = bachelors + 3 year
MD (medicine) = bachelors + 4 years
PhD = bachelors + masters + 2-6 years
That's assuming full time for each degree. If you're going part time, double the amount of years required.
