FOr those that know about psychology degrees? We Answered:
No one can tell you for certain because no one knows where you are going to school and what courses that school offers and what requirements it will have. Usually you have to take so many credits for your major and so many credits as a minor. Sometmes, as in my case, all the minor courses do not have to be in the same subject. I had sociology, statistics, anthropology, and philosophy I think as minor courses. Major courses are developmental (or child psychology), physiological psychology, abnormal psychology, learning, experimental psychology, personality, social psychology. Often schools offer two semesters in each of these courses at least and you pick, I think, 24 credits worth, which is usually eight courses, unless some have a lab section, like physiological psychology.Zachary Said:
What colleges should i go to for psychology degrees? Preferably in Colorado? We Answered:
Psychology is one of the most popular majors in spite of the fact there are essentially no jobs for a person with a bachelor's degree in Psychology. You can only realistically expect to make a living in this field if you get a PhD so you can set yourself up in private practice as a Psychologist. To do this you have to graduate from your bachelors program with a GPA of at least 3.0. If you think you can do this and commit yourself to at least 4 years of additional schooling after you get your bachelors, then great.
But if you do not think you will get at least a 3.0 or do not intend to stay in school past your bachelors degree then you should consider a different field. There are vastly more people with a bachelors degree in psychology that there is anything resembling enough jobs for them.
Since you need a PhD and once you have a PhD no one really cares where you got your bachelors, just go to the place you can go for the cheapest, generally your closest state university, as an in state student. A less competitive school is best as you will end up with a better GPA. A high GPA from a less competitive school is better than a mediocre GPA from a competitive school. Save your money for grad school and your PhD.
If you do not want to pursue a masters in Psychology, you can also go into a masters program in a lot of other areas or to law school as well.
People with only an undergrad degree in psychology and who actually got a job that had anything to do with the degree made a starting salary of $36,000 per year on average in 2009 according to:

Information On Types Of Psychology Degrees And Jobs?We Answered:
There are a lot of jobs you can do. How far you go in school (undergraduate, graduate, etc.) also determines which jobs you're qualified for. I put some links below that will describe the wide range of jobs available. To be registered as a psychologist, most provinces/states need at least a masters degree. Many also require a PhD. However, there are other jobs you can do with a psychology degree that do not require graduate work.
For dreams... well, you could take a range of classes. From classes in neuropsych to cognition. Then go on to a graduate school and research them there.
You could also look at it from a psychoanalytical perspective (ie Freud). If you wanted to do dream analysis, you would probably want to go to a school that trains "psychoanalysts." ( http://www.uscollegesearch.org/psychoana… )

What is the diference between college psychology degrees? We Answered:
An associates degree is a 2-year degree earned right after high school. It is a real degree, but usually not sufficient for someone who wants to be a "college graduate". Usually, someone who gets an associates degree in an academic subject matter like psychology will go on to get a bachelors degree, which is a four-year degree earned right after high school (that would mean another two years of classes). The four year bachelors degree (a BS is a bachelor of science) is the standard college degree. You can start the bachelors degree at the beginning and it will take four years, and the associates degree is not necessary to get before beginning it. A masters degree is a degree earned AFTER getting a bachelors degree. It uusally takes between one and two more years after that, but you can't get into a masters degree program unless you already have a bachelors degree. The only other college degree is a Ph.D. or doctorate, and that usually takes at least another four years AFTER the bachelors degree, or possibly AFTER the master's degree (many people get the master's degree along the way to the doctorate.
Online degrees in psychology don't make much sense, though. Psychology has to do with human behavior, and I can't imagine that anyone would respect such a degree earned without human interaction!
Darren Said:
Are there any undergraduate Psychology degrees in Canada or the US that last for 3 years? We Answered:
(US) I majored in Psychology. Bachelor's programs are four year programs, but you can finish in 3 if you're able to go to school completely full time and perhaps during summer and winter. So, I don't believe there are three year programs, but you can finish up more quickly if you've got plenty of time, dedication and can grasp things easily.
